Controller IN HOUSE
What’s the Opportunity?
We are seeking an experienced Controller IN HOUSE to lead our financial operations and oversee business and property management functions. This role is responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while also supporting the financial needs of our property management portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in both corporate finance and real estate property management. Strong team player attitude. Yardi software experience is a plus.
What will the Controller IN HOUSE be doing?

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, all bank statements for all entities and financial reporting.

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for both corporate and property management operations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Manage financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Oversee property-level financial reporting, including rent rolls, CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, and lease compliance.

Partner with property management teams to monitor property performance, cash flow, and capital expenditures.

Implement internal controls and streamline financial processes for greater efficiency.

Ensures all insurance policies for all properties are up to date

Assist in strategic business decisions by providing financial insights and risk assessments.
Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).

7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior financial management role.

Experience in property management accounting (Yardi, MRI, or similar software experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of real estate industry-specific financial metrics and benchmarks.

Familiarity with lease agreements, tenant billing, and property-level budgeting.

Proficiency in financial planning software and ERP systems.
Located within the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles and the Salary range is $100K to $140K DOE.
